I’ve built several travel blogs and destination niche sites.

I definitely wish I had some examples to look at before I got started.
BTW – if you are serious about becoming a travel blogger, I highly recommend:
- Travel Blog Prosperity (affiliate link) – my friend Jessie Festa’s coaching membership that’s all about starting and scaling a profitable travel blog. This is perfect if you haven’t started a travel website yet, but you want to try it out and build slowly on a part-time basis.
- Profitable Part-Time Blogger (affiliate link) – a massively valuable, mega-course collection & coaching program by my friend and mentor, Nina Clapperton.
The terms are often used interchangeably, but I see travel blogs as distinctly different from destination niche sites.
A travel blog often focuses on the “story” or “diary” of the blogger’s experiences (e.g., “Don’t Do What I Did During My 10-Day Trip to Berlin”). There’s still value, for sure – but you’ll notice that a lot of the content (if not most, or all of it) is written in first-person. That’s where the value is added. You’re benefitting from someone else’s personal experience, or trial-and-error.
A destination niche site, on the other hand, focuses on informational, in-depth, and “guidebook-style” content for a specific place (e.g., “Complete Guide to Restaurants in Tokyo.”
Ideally, you’ll have both in-depth destination knowledge and personal experience before starting a travel site.
But if you have at least one, you’re ready to start!

Nugget Nomad
This might be one of my favorite projects.
It started as a funny exchange between me and some fellow travel professionals. We’d been on a FAM trip and conference for several days at this point and, frankly, we were exhausted.
We were hungry, and we started scoping local places for dinner.
Nothing sounded quite right… until one of the advisors said, “…could we just go to McDonal’s”
Suddenly, the entire group erupted in laughter, and relief washed over everyone. Something affordable and familiar is exactly what we all needed.
For years, I’ve been documenting fun finds, special menu items, and unique experiences at McDonald’s around the world.
Two Broads Go Abroad

My sister Talitha (Tali for short) and I have traveled a lot together. And we still continue to!
That brand is all about traveling with your best friend, vs. traveling solo, with a group, or with a significant other.
It’s a must honestly if you have a sister!

Love Letter to Tucson
I’ve lived in Tucson, Arizona since 2022.
